The magazine library, present in both IED Milano libraries (each with its own specific features), hosts a collection of almost 250 titles of Italian and foreign magazines, available for consultation and covering a period dating from 1950 to the present day.
It has subscriptions on over 80 publications specialising in design, architecture, fashion, fashion trends, photography, illustration, branding and communication.
Lending of magazines is not allowed, except for special needs, which are always assessed within the limits of compliance with the Library Regulations.
Most of the magazines are arranged on open shelves, in alphabetical order by reference area (or subject); the older magazines stored in the archive can be consulted by appointment.

In OPAC, the magazines are described in a record for each title, with relevant stock or holding by the reference Library. Magazines are currently described in an analytical bibliographic manner: this approach gives the user extra tools for retrieving articles related to different research requirements, as well as the possibility of ongoing updates on trends in the specialist sectors to which user is focused.

In addition, there are also e-magazines and digital archives on subscription, where access is guaranteed both at the facility and remotely. Below you can find more information on electronic magazines and databases in the related tabs, and in the “Digital Library” section.

From 2024 we have 10 new magazines: Brand, Renewable Matter, Sindroms, Slanted, Toilet paper, Tools, Copy, Dust, Purple, Metalsmith.
